MIKE COLDICOTT - DIRECTOR
In his role as Managing Director, Mike divides his time between leading projects and managing the business, focusing on Tricon's business strategies, performance and organisational development to ensure that we serve our clients with the industry's top talent. As a hands on leader, with over 30 years of experience across all Tricon's business sectors, Mike brings a wealth of experience to project teams from pioneering strategy development through to cutting edge designs. Outside his consulting activities, Mike is a regular speaker and presenter at industry conferences in the fields of foodservice design and sustainability and is regularly sought for industry views.
JOHN DOWNMAN - INTERNATIONAL PROJECT DIRECTOR
With over 30 years of experience, John has led the initial strategy development for many projects across all of the EMEA Region. John retains a passion for finding ergonomic and bespoke practical solutions to complex foodservice strategies to enable the design to proceed with a clear operational and business case. He leads management and design consultancy projects and is responsible for the development of our international work. Regarded as one of the country's leading experts in catering contracts, John was instrumental in introducing the Guaranteed Performance Contract in the UK. He also delivers courses on catering contracts for the British Institute of Facilities Managers.
ROBERT PLUMB - DESIGN DIRECTOR
Heading up Tricon's Dubai office, Robert leverages his expertise and knowledge of foodservice design to manage large-scale and complex hospitality, headquarters, retail center and campus projects, as well as smaller boutique designs. Project teams and clients seek Robert's technical insights as well as his profound understanding of operators' needs. Bob graduated with a Bsc in catering systems in 1978 and in 2009 was acknowledged by his peers and made a visiting fellow at Sheffield Hallam University. Throughout his career he has focused on pushing the boundaries of creativity and design in hospitality and has, as a result developed close working relationships with many of the world's leading hotel brands.
GARY THOMPSON - DESIGN DIRECTOR
Gary has direct responsibility for the day to day management of Tricon's design teams; formally a qualified Chartered Quantity Surveyor, Gary has over 15 years project management experience. Adept at building and maintaining long-term client relationships, Gary uses his extensive expertise and knowledge of design and construction to manage complex hospitality projects. Gary pioneers Tricon's Learning & Development Programme for all the design and support team to ensure their knowledge is at the cutting edge of the industry. Gary serves as a member of Tricon's Board and ensures that all projects are delivered on time and to Tricon's exacting standards.
ANDREW MCMILLAN - DESIGN DIRECTOR
A highly experienced Designer, Andrew joins Tricon with over 25 years of consulting in food and beverage facilities, and has designed some of the most high profile Hospitality projects internationally. His comprehensive experience spans all phases of project development and extends to management of international foodservice design practices in South East Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. He values a collaborative approach to design, that successfully identifies and resolves all aspects of the project. Andrew supports lateral thinking, both to enhance a designers thought process and, as a challenge to all project Stakeholders. This has earned him lasting relationships with Owners, Designers and Operators seeking his services. Andrew contributes articles to trade journals on product design, and has been included on AIA Interior awards. Andrew also serves on the Management Board of Tricon.
Shikin Amain Turner
SHIKIN AMAIN TURNER - CREATIVE DIRECTOR
With a design career spanning over 20 years, including more than a decade with Tricon, Shikin relocated from Kuala Lumpur to Tricon's UK office to take up her role as Creative Director. Her breadth of project work showcases her ability to utilise spaces creatively both back and front of house. The role is multifaceted from leading the design and successful execution of a wide variety of projects, across multiple sectors, to continuously challenging and guiding project teams, with whom she works, to deliver outstanding designs. Shikin retains a penchant to travel and explore the world of hospitality and uses this experience to deliver best in class foodservice operations.
SARAH BAKER - OPERATIONS DIRECTOR
With over 20 years accountancy experience from both industry and practice, Sarah is responsible for the company's finance and operational functions. Her passion for the human side of the business has expanded her responsibilities to overseeing and directing Tricon's human resource division where she has been instrumental in planning the company's learning & development programme.
Sarah monitors the performance of the business ensuring a parallel delivery of services for both the London and Dubai offices. Asked to give a key thought on life - "keep calm and drink champagne".
EDWARD HARVEY - F&B STRATEGY & CONCEPT DIRECTOR
Concept design requires innovation and experience coupled with a determination to seek out everything that is happening globally in the world of food and beverage. Edward brings these key ingredients to the table in abundance.Â He is a seasoned professional having started at the Savoy, progressing to Director F&B, Hyatt International working in London, Tokyo and Hong Kong and then moving to Marriott International where he held many senior roles including Director F&B Concept Development and Design. Edward has joined Tricon specifically to extend our services to the provision of food & beverage concept development, a natural extension of our core consultancy offering.
STEPHEN WILKINSON - MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT
Having delivered a wide range of projects both in the UK and Internationally Stephen's forte is the development of the foodservice strategy, at the front end of projects, that enable the design team to proceed with a clear understanding as to the client's concept and business aspirations. Combining his project role with heading up Tricon's management consultant team, Stephen has worked on numerous high profile projects conducting operational and financial reviews on behalf of clients, as well as market testing and operator procurement. With a background in hotel management, he holds an economics degree from the University of Nottingham and enjoys being able to put his years of experience to excellent use.
PAUL GREENWOOD - BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
A member of Tricon's Management Board, Paul's key focus is to identify and develop new business opportunities to support Tricon's long term growth plan across the EMEA region. Using over 30 years operational and sales experience, Paul is instrumental in building strong business relationships between Tricon and Client/Design teams internationally.
Outside his sales activities, Paul is an active member of a number of professional bodies and is currently Deputy Chair of the BIFM Catering & Hospitality SIG and responsible also for delivering contract training courses for the corporate sector. Paul continues to be responsible for overseeing the sales strategy for both the UK and Dubai offices and driving long term growth.
RUTH MATEO - PROJECT DIRECTOR
Having worked on projects over the last twenty years with most of the global architectural firms, Ruth's multidisciplinary expertise allows her to develop leading kitchen and servery spaces for today's operators. Never afraid to take on new challenges, or question established precedents, Ruth has led a variety of projects across the Middle East and Asia ranging from hotels, corporate, healthcare and leading educational establishments with a focus on user engagement coupled with a clear understanding of the client's overall budget and business objective. Originally a licensed architect, Ruth brings boundless energy to projects perhaps as a result of being an ardent tri-athlete.
BRETT LIND - PROJECT MANAGER
Brett has over 30 years of F&B operations, a qualified Chef, having worked in various Hotels and Restaurants in New Zealand & Australia. Having also held a number of senior management positions with leading European and US based Commercial Catering Equipment Manufacturers, where he provided expert advice to Architects and Interior Designers on efficient design and application criteria, M&E requirements.
In more recent years he played a major role as part of the Project management team to the Fairmont Raffles Hotel project in Manila Philippines. Project Managing on behalf of the project owners to co-ordinate activities of the owner, hotel operator, installation contractors, main contractor, Foodservice consultant and MEP consultants.
PAUL WRIGHT - MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT
Paul is one of our most experienced Management Project Directors having worked at Tricon since 1989. A key strategist and sage, his expertise is in advising clients and project teams on domestic and international operational strategies, concepts and models across all sectors. Regularly using office colleagues to challenge and debate his ideas, he ensures all detail is considered. Paul brings significant knowledge and a practical approach to each project having previously worked in managerial roles in the hotel, restaurant and licensed retail sectors. Formally a graduate from the University of Bristol, Paul also holds a Post-graduate Diploma in Hotel & Catering.
JASON FARRER - PROJECT DIRECTOR
Jason combines his ability to understand a client's business drivers and develop an appropriate design strategy with an extensive knowledge of catering equipment practices and regulations based on over two decades of experience. Having worked on projects in the UK, Europe and Middle East across a diverse array of sectors from public, corporate, medical, leisure and hotels, Jason has developed and delivered many prestigious projects in the capacity of Project Director. Jason's strength is in fostering strong relationships with clients and their design teams and his commitment ensures his team generates creative ideas with practical solutions adding real value to the delivery of projects.
PAUL ARNOLD - PROJECT DIRECTOR
A problem-solver known for his energy and enthusiasm, Paul delivers projects across the EMEA Region and inspires confidence in all who work with him, not only for his professional and ethical approach, but also for his extensive industry knowledge and experience. Paul has been instrumental within Tricon for driving and leading the implementation of BIM and also for representing Tricon within our industry's professional body. His strength is his technical knowledge of catering equipment practices and regulations, having previously worked for worldwide catering equipment suppliers & manufacturers. Paul ensures thorough co-ordination at all stages of the design project between the client, contractors and construction teams.
ALISTER MORGAN - MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT
While Alister has extensive experience across a number of sectors he is seen, by the industry, as the guru within the education sector, championing work within universities, colleges and schools. He brings to projects over 30 years experience in catering operations and foodservice consultancy. He specialises in foodservice strategies, operational options, catering audits and tenders. A professional member of the Institute of Hospitality and a qualified manager in Health, Safety and Hygiene, Alister works also to deliver BIFM catering contract courses to members. Alister retains a tremendously loyal client base, having worked for many organisations over a number of years who value the knowledge he brings to their organisations.
