The ‘Pay as you dine’ (PAYD) concept of Service Personnel paying for their meals was introduced with the Military Salary in 1971. Its aim was to offer a customer-orientated approach but it failed after many attempts, due to cost and complexity.

In 2007, Tricon helped implement the first PAYD scheme at HM Naval Base Portsmouth. We devised a comprehensive and cost effective business plan outlining opportunities for developing more commercial operations to supplement the PAYD plan. The success of this project has led to our subsequent appointment in assisting with the tendering of Cleaning and Waste Management contracts at the Naval Base, Portsmouth.
